Met Gala 2016 Red Carpet Fashion

Last night was the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute Benefit.  It is chaired by Anna Wintour and nearly impossible to get an invite to unless you are famous, extremely wealthy or have spectacular connections.  Fun fact: my Brother in law worked for Graydon Carter for a few years and he could not finagle me a ticket (despite my begging).

The New York Times just shared a great article about the event here in case you are interested in learning more.

Even though I doubt I will ever get the chance to attend this event in person, I do still love to admire the fashion on the red carpet.

Blake Lively usually tends to be my favorite but last night should be called, “The Day That Claire Danes Won Fashion”.  She stepped on to a red carpet alongside Beyonce, Blake Lively, Lauren Santo Domingo, supermodels, fashionistas, actresses and she walked away the title of best dressed!  That is a HUGE accomplishment and she owes it all to Zac Posen for creating such a fabulous gown.

Her dress is the Cinderella-esque perfection of my childhood fantasies.  The fit, color, minimal-styling, makeup, frayed edges and construction of the gown all make me swoon.

I could go into worst dressed (and I periodically) but I don’t really love to do that.  Fashion is subjective and not everyone has the same taste.  I am going to skip it this time around and just stick with the looks that I enjoyed.

Who did you think rocked the red carpet?  Did I miss anyone?
