I take my holiday cards very seriously. I have to give my husband and daughter major props for putting up with me on this. Each year they let me dress them up and parade them around in a freezing park, smile on command and still manage to love me.
I start my preparations in early November. I pin various inspirational pictures on Pinterest throughout the year and refer back at this time. Then I look around for a piece of clothing or an accessory that moves me and create a mood board on Polyvore. I am a visual person and it helps me to have everything all laid out. Here is an example of the one I made this year.
I add things, delete them, edit them and then when I am totally happy with the overall look I order everything that we dont already own (in this case the boots, jeans and Taylor’s headband we already had in our closets).
Next I saw a picture of an adorable banner so I looked them up on Etsy and ordered one from Banner Cheer. They were excellent to work with.
We use the same photographer every year. His name is Frank Pensabene. If you are in the New York Metro area, I HIGHLY recommend him. He has a great eye for detail and works with me to incorporate my ideas into the shoot. My pictures always come back very quickly and they are perfection. I am always really impressed with his work.

Here is our finished card! So cute, right?
