Rocksbox Review – Take II

Rocksbox Review #rocksbox #alittleglitter

Last month I shared a post about Rocksbox.  I have gotten two more boxes since then and I would like to provide a more in depth review.

If you follow me on social media you may be Rocksboxed out at this point.  If that is the case, I totally apologize and you can exit and we will meet up again tomorrow.  Same place, same time, no Rocksbox.

For those who are interested, here are my two cents:

My second Rocksbox started out as a bit of a bummer.  I put my first box in the mail and got the confirmation that a new one shipped the next day.  They had not even received my original box back yet.  I was pretty stoked for the quick turnaround time.  I started stalking the USPS website daily.  My package was due to be delivered on a Monday but never showed up.  By Wednesday I knew there was a problem.  I emailed customer service and they were so accommodating!  They sent out a new box that day, gave me a credit and apologized via email (for something that was not even their fault).  My new box came and I loved the pieces.  It contained:

Rocksbox Perry Street Kendra Scott Slate #rocksbox #alittleglitter

Perry Street Bleeker Crystal Earrings $35 RETURN

These earrings are big.  They are about the size of a quarter and they felt a little young (like my daughter should be wearing them).  I loved the clear crystal because it coordinated with everything but I didn’t love the size or the style.  They were very sparkly though.

Kendra Scott Grady Bangle in Periwinkle $36 RETURNKendra Scott Grady Bangle Periwinkle RocksboxEasy-Beachy-Waves-Tutorial-John-Frieda-Beach-Blonde-71

I’m on the fence about this one.  I got a lot of use out of it and I love the color of the bracelet.  However, I thought it was kind of cheaply made and I had to bend it open to fit it over my fat wrists.  I was afraid that after repeated use one day it would just snap.

Slate Spiked Pearls Necklace $70
Slate Spike Pearls Necklace RocksboxSlate Spike Pearls NecklaceI wore this one quite a bit.  If I were going to keep any of the pieces they sent – this one would have been it.  I love the juxtaposition between the spikes and the pearls and I appreciate the bit of sparkle.  That being said – I did not want to pay $70 for a necklace right now so the Rocksbox business model worked out for me.  I got to enjoy a beautiful (yet expensive) necklace and then send it back.  Perfect.

So that’s the 2 month review. Still loving the service- still getting great jewelry!  It’s stuff that I love to wear but dont want to buy for myself.

If you have any other questions, be sure to leave them in the comments below or email me: pamela@alittleglitter.com.

For those that are unfamiliar with the service – Rocksbox is basically like Rent the Runway or Netflix but with jewelry.  They carry designer brands like Gorjana, Kate Spade, Loren Hope and House of Harlow.  You go on their site and fill out a simple style survey, browse through jewelry and add the items you like to your wishlist.  Then, they send you three pieces.  You don’t pay for shipping and the packing is reusable.  The service only costs $19 per month.  You keep the jewelry for as long as you want and when you are done rocking it you can either keep some of the pieces (and buy them at a reduced rate) or return them using the pre-paid label they provide and they will send you a new set.  You can cancel at any time.  Easy peasy.

The items that I got in my Rocksbox are:

Gorjana Roya Shimmer Studs $36 RETURN

I am meh about these.  They are tiny.  I am probably not even going to wear them because I am afraid they will get lost.

Perry Street Abby Necklace in Black Crystal $60 WANT SO BAD

I am wearing this necklace as I type this and I am obsessed with it.  Since I wear so much black I think it makes sense for me to keep it.  It is so gorgeous and shimmery in person.  These pictures really don’t do it any justice.

Margaret Elizabeth Rimini Bangle in Moonstone $108 RETURNIMG_2866

I love this piece.  I wound up wearing it yesterday for Easter and I got a ton of compliments.  I personally cant spend that much on a bracelet this month but that is the beauty of Rocksbox.  I got to wear it with my outfit and it was fun but too expensive for me and now it can go back.

For the next 30 days, you can use my code “alittleglitterxoxo” for 1 FREE month!  Try it out and if you don’t like it you can cancel with no obligation.

Here are a few of the pieces that I have on my wishlist and hope to receive in my next Rocksbox…

Want It Wednesday!

Want It Wednesday

It’s still cold and supposed to snow tonight in New York (bleh) but it is officially Spring, so I’m going to make this week’s Want It Wednesday colorful and filled with things I love for the warmer weather anyway.

1.  Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Percy Crossbody Bag.  The small crossbody bag is HUGE for Spring and I am in love with this trend.  This bag is big enough to store your cell phone, lip gloss, a small wallet, and other essentials.  It is the perfect size and how cute is the color?  Love.

2.  Tom Ford Solange Sunglasses.  Tom Ford makes the best shades.  These are so glamorous!

3.  Steve Madden Neliee Sandals.  Camel colored sandals go with everything and they are a staple in my Spring/Summer closet.  I love these!

4.  AG Robyn Denim Jacket.  Denim jackets are so timeless.  They are durable, comfy and always fashionable.  I love to pair mine with maxi dresses!

5.  Kendra Scott Kinley Necklace.  I must have this necklace.  It is a gorgeous shade of mint and goes perfectly with number 6!

6.  Ella Moss Lana Print Maxi Dress.  I live in maxi dresses during the warmer parts of the year.  I own a number of Ella Moss ones and they are so comfortable and (I am going to reveal how truly nerdy I am here…so brace yourselves) they make coordinating little girl’s clothes!  Last year Taylor and I had a few maxi/tank top outfits that were in the same print. I don’t know if she will get on board with that this year but I still want this dress.

What have you ladies seen on the internet this week that you are loving?
