Merry Christmas!

I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!  I am taking some time off from blogging to spend with my family.  You can follow along on our adventures on Instagram or Facebook in the meantime.  I hope you have a fabulous, glittery, lovely holiday!  xo

Good morning loves!  Happy Monday!  Today I am linking up with Biana for Weekending.  This one was full of highs and lows.  I guess I should start from the beginning:

On Friday my tooth started KILLING me.  I, of course, iced it with a bottle of champs like a true boss.ChampsBy the evening I was in bad shape.  I was up all night praying for death and thinking of operating on it myself like Tom Hanks in Castaway but I didn’t have an ice skate handy.

I made it to the dentist first thing Saturday and he advised that I needed a root canal and I would have to see a specialist after the Holidays.  He put me on antibiotics and gave me some pain meds so I am feeling better.

On the bright side – I got my new car this weekend!  It is a black on black Infiniti Q50 and I am IN LOVE with it!   It is so swanky and high tech.  My hubby negotiated a great deal on the lease for me and I am paying $50 less than I was for my old car.  Saving money makes it that much better!  Here are some pics of her:

2014-12-20 17.56.06On Sunday I finished up all my holiday shopping!  I am officially done!  I also made some beef stew in my slow cooker and after dinner we curled up on the couch and watched A Christmas Story.  Now that I dont have to worry about buying gifts I can spend the next few days actually enjoying the holidays.

Are you guys done with your shopping?

Happy Friday!

Happy FridaySo tomorrow starts the last weekend before Christmas!  It is officially crunch time!  Husband injured.  Tons of shopping.  Crazy list reminiscent of the movie, A Beautiful Mind.  BUT, I am not upset.  I know that Christmas will rock and we will get it all done.  I have faith in us and our shopping and organizing abilities.

Here are my five favorites from the past week:

One.  A NEWWWWWWWWWWW CAR.  If you follow me on Insta I am sure you will catch a glimpse of my new baby sometime today.  I cant wait to pick her up.  She is bad!

Two.  My little girl got the lead in the nativity play at our church and she killed it!  I was so proud of her!  Here is a pic of my little star:

3.  Chocolate Covered Strawberries.  My bestie sent me the most delicious present to nosh on at work.  How delish-looking and festive are these?

4.  Hubby’s Good News.  Two good things happened this week for my hubby.  He got the staples out of his ankle from his surgery and he can drive again!  I have a feeling he is going to be helping me break in my new car since he is home for the next six weeks and she is going to be sitting there all pretty in the driveway!

5.  Awesome Christmas Shirts.  I just bought the following shirts to wear on Christmas:

I cant wait!  The hubs and I are going to be STYLING!

Okay loves, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and manage to get all your shopping done with raging out!

I am linking up with LaurenAmanda and Natasha this week.  If you get a chance, stop by and show them some love.

Skinnygirl Snack Swap

I have mentioned previously that I am a HUGE food swapper.  I am not a salad girl.  I would love to be but I just hate it.  I like to eat delicious things and in an effort to stay slim I make substitutions in my daily life that help me keep my calorie intake in check.

This is a principle that I learned in Bethenny Frankel’s book Naturally Thin.  She advised that you should treat your daily calorie intake like a bank account.  If you splurge during lunch you should eat lighter during other meals or snacks in order to keep things balanced.  I thought that made a lot of sense at the time and it has been something that I’ve continued to do.

I was recently introduced to the new Skinnygirl Tasty Nutrition Bars at an InStyle Magazine event.  I received a few of them in my swag bag and could not wait to try them.  The chocolate peanut butter with sea salt is my favorite!

After falling in love with the nutrition bars I discovered Skinnygirl’s Snack Swap website.  It should be called Pam.  It is EXACTLY my type of party.

It is extremely user-friendly.  You choose the type of snack that you are craving from a list of descriptions on the left-hand side of the screen.

Then, you narrow it down further.

Finally, the site provides lower calorie recipes or snack bar options that will satisfy your craving without breaking “the bank”.  Screenshot 3The recipes are pretty simple and I appreciate that they are not just telling you to eat kale.  They understand that you want chocolate and they want to help you eat it while still staying within your calorie budget.

P.S. How good do those chocolate covered bananas look?  Yummo!

P.P.S. Today is the last day to enter my Blogiversary Giveaway!  One of the prizes is a gift pack from Skinnygirl that includes a month’s supply of each flavor of their Tasty Nutrition Bars and other awesome Skinnygirl swag!
