Happy Wednesday! {+ a GIVEAWAY!!}

Good morning lovies!  Today is a special day because it is my handsome hubby’s birthday! To celebrate I thought I would treat you to a fabulous giveaway?  Sound good?  I thought you might like that!

Earrings 1 Earrings 2

How gorgeous are these?  They were handmade by Randi from Lovely Like the Sun.  She is a California native that creates the most beautiful wire-wrapped jewelry and is a total sweetheart! The earrings I am modeling are 14k gold filled and the crystal is genuine swarovski.  They are so pretty that Taylor tried to claim them as her own five seconds after I opened the package.  (What can I say?  The child has taste!  She also tried to confiscate a Chanel bag from my room this morning but that is a story for another day.)

I wore these earrings last weekend and I got so many compliments on them!  Also, they are extremely light!  I don’t know if you can see it in these pictures but my earring hole is stretched from wearing super-heavy chandeliers over the years so I tend to be careful about what I wear now.  I couldn’t even tell I had these on.  They were so comfortable.

They come in tons of colors and Randi will let the winner pick whichever one they love the most!  Yay Randi!

Want It Wednesday!

Want It Wednesday

Happy Hump Day my loves!  I hope you are all having a fabulous week!  I know it is still July but the Fall merchandise is on the shelves and I am LOVING some of it.  Here are my picks for Want It Wednesday…

1.  Cole Haan Arlington Leather Boot.  These are perfect, classic boots and right now they are on sale at Nordstrom!

2. and 4.  Essie’s Fall 2014 nail polish colors are GORGEOUS!  I would literally wear every single color!

3.  J Crew Quilted Puffer Jacket.  I am obsessed with this color (perfect for blondes and brunettes alike) and I also love the fact that JCrew has a tall option for us longer-limbed gals.

4.  (See above.)

5.  Halogen Ombre Cashmere Wrap.  This beautiful wrap is also on sale at Nordstrom this week!

What are you guys loving around the internet this week?

Happy Monday guys!  I hope you all had a great one!  Mine was delightful yet packed.  I need a weekend to recover from this weekend.

Photo Grid

On Saturday the hubby took Taylor and I fishing out on Long Island.  We went out on the Captree Pride (for any of you locals that are interested) and it was so much fun! As soon as the boat left Taylor started catching fish.  Billy and I caught a bunch of smaller flukes but Taylor got a big bluefish, flukes, crabs, sea robbins, etc.  Every few minutes she had a catch.  It was hilarious.  All these burly fishermen on the boat were in awe of her.

On Sunday we went out to New Jersey to barbecue with our friends, let the kiddies swim in the pool and (in my case) drink massive amounts of wine.  (See picture in middle of the photo grid for confirmation.)  We ate lots of delicious food and desserts and had a blast. Their girls are adorable, they play so nicely with Taylor and they all love my husband.  That picture of their daughter hugging Billy makes my heart melt.

The last picture is a sneak peek at a giveaway that I am starting later in the week so stay tuned!

I am linking up with Biana today, so if you have a moment you should stop by her page and show her some love!

P.S. My giveaway for a monogram keychain ends tomorrow so if you haven’t already entered you should!

Happy Friday!

A Little Glitter Friday

Friday!  More like Fri-Yay!  I don’t have any big plans for this weekend but I am still excited to not have to work/get up early and any days that I get to spend with my little girl are worth getting excited about!  Speaking of things that excite me, here are my five favorites:

1.  It is restaurant week in NYC!  That means until August 15th (which is more than a week but whatever, I’ll take it!) I get to enjoy lunches and dinners at some of my favorite places for a super cheap rate.  I already have a few reservations lined up for next week.

2.  I went to dinner with my bestie Tuesday night to Lure Fishbar.  I have eaten there numerous times and it never fails to amaze me how delicious their food is.  OMG.  They are also taking part in restaurant week so I had a full three course meal for $38!!!  Yes!  Delicious food and saving money are two of my favorite things!  Check out these donuts!  They were filled with raspberry and I ate all three.  Yum.

3.  I went to Sephora yesterday to take advantage of their amazing return policy and get a store credit for the two bottles of NARS foundation where the caps broke on me.  I got a credit for $98!  Of course I spent it all immediately on:

Bumble & Bumble Sunday Shampoo

(Bumble and Bumble Sunday Shampoo.  It makes my hair squeaky clean and my blonde looks so bright after I use it. )

Nars Risky Business

(NARS Risky Business.  This is my go-to lipgloss.)

hourglass concealer

(Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer.  This is new and I’m pretty excited to try it.)

4.  I’m currently running a giveaway for a beautiful monogram keychain!  Enter HERE!

5.  I will leave you off with something that made me lol.

Hahaha!  Imagine seeing that in the bottom of your cup?

Okay loves, I am linking up with LaurenAmyKarli and Amanda today so if you get a chance stop by and show them some love!  Have a fabulous weekend!  xo

Taylor’s Rock Star Birthday Party – Part Two

A Little Glitter Rock Star Birthday Party

Hey guys!  I’m back with more details from Taylor’s rock star birthday party!  (In case you missed part one – here is a link.)  In today’s post I am going to share how I turned the party space from this:

Room before 1

Room before 3

 into this:

The elements I used to dress up the ceiling were tissue paper poms and a beautiful rock star banner that I put on the front of the stage.  I had 24 poms in different sizes that I got from PomPomsUSA.  I fluffed them and suspended them with fishing wire.  I used purple, white, hot pink and silver and I feel like they really popped against the black ceiling.

The rock star banner was made by Firefly Party Design and it looked gorgeous on the front of the stage!  I thought the inclusion of real sheet music was such a smart idea!Firefly Party Design Banner

The next thing I focused on was the dessert area.  For this, I actually re-purposed the display case that the music school had in that area of the room by wrapping it in black plastic table covering.  I bought a roll of it from Party City and it was long enough to wrap that case and three tables and I still had plenty left over.  I also bought hot pink sequin runners on Amazon a few days before the party.  I wasn’t sure they were going to come in time but thankfully they did.

Christina from Project Paper made those beautiful tassel garlands on the front of the tables. Here are a few pictures of them in the sunlight.  They were so sparkly and gorgeous!  They would look really great for an outdoor party as well.

How fabulous are the blinged out risers that Kathy from 2 Krafty Moms sent me?  They looked great and added a bit of height and visual interest to the dessert area.  Those beautiful cake pops were made by Besos Bakery Boutique.

In the middle of the table you can see the tiered dessert stand that Taylor and I made from vinyl records.  (Here is the tutorial in case you missed it.)

Those beautiful glittery cupcake holders were provided by Dress My Cupcake.  They were extremely easy to assemble, didn’t shed any glitter and are reusable!  How cool is that?  I could only fit about twenty cupcakes onto the record dessert stand so I ran to Pier1 the day before the party and picked up some clear glass cake stands.  They were only $13 each!  Score!

On the dessert table I also included delicious zebra print sugar cookies made by the very talented Leslie of Bakesale.  Fun fact: the World is extremely small.  When I gave Leslie my shipping address we discovered that both she and her husband used to work in my building before moving to NC!  Crazy, right?

I should also note that I used items on the dessert table (everything besides the cupcakes) that were individually wrapped and could be taken home in the kid’s swag bags.  I wanted to have a beautiful dessert display filled with baked goods but I did not think the kids would be able to finish everything there during the party.

Another tasty treat I set out for the girls to enjoy were hot pink and purple chocolate-covered oreos made by Tia of Deliciously Chocolate.  These were SO SO SO yummy!

The last sweet treat (but certainly not the least since I have gotten so many compliments on these and inquiries from parents as to where to buy them) are the milk chocolate microphone lollipops made by Rosebud Chocolates.  These were perfect for me as they even had a little glitter on the top!

The party was a total success and everyone had a blast!
