Welcome to Monday!

Good morning!  Welcome to my last Weekending post for March.  Pretty soon it will be April and hopefully Mother Nature will have her stuff together and start bringing us the warm, Springy weather that we deserve!  I am starting to feel like I live in Seattle.  Yesterday was nice but today we are back to the grey, wet, cold.  Bleh.  This weekend was interesting (to say the least) and definitely full of excitement.

FRIDAY – After work I went with Billy and T to Roll N Roaster in Brooklyn for some magnificent roast beef sandwiches and cheese fries.  As though dinner was not decadent enough they managed to talk me into Coldstone for dessert.  I probably gained 40 pounds from that one meal but it was totally worth it.

SATURDAY – I began the day by meeting up with a girlfriend for brunch.  We had a great meal.  Every part of it was perfect and we sat there laughing and talking for about two and a half hours.  It was a great time.

After brunch I went home and got started making a roasted chicken.  (It took a few hours to cook so I had to put it in early for it to be ready for dinner that night.)  It came FABULOUS!  The secret to making a really good chicken or turkey is the create a pocket in between the skin and stuff it.  In this case I threw some butter, garlic, onion powder and Italian seasoning in my mini prep and then put that in there.  It was so so yummy.  I am realizing that I did a lot of eating this past weekend.

I let Taylor have to friends sleep over to watch the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.  We were all hanging out on the couch watching and eating popcorn when Zendaya came on the screen.  She was wearing a VERY severe bob and one of the girl’s said, “she looks like Dora”.  It was such a hilarious observation that I couldnt help myself from creating a Meme (you know how I love them) and posting it on Instagram.

This is where the story takes a strange turn.  Apparently Zendaya saw the meme and liked it.  All of a sudden my Instagram started blowing up.  I was getting like 5 likes a second.  It was madness.  Somehow, her tween fans could tell that she liked my picture.  (I am still not absolutely sure how.)  Then, they started to clue in to the fact that I was making fun of her and turned on me.  Pretty much hundreds of kids left comments calling me, “old, crusty, racist, mean, washed up, etc.”  I contemplated taking it down for a while because it was attracting a lot of negative attention but I think it is funny, I made it and I decided to own it.  I didn’t care for her hair in the bob and I didn’t like her dreads.  My opinion.  I deleted some of the more violent and creepy ones but the rest are just magic.  Here are a few of my favorites:

“You just mad that you couldnt look 1/999 as good as her on a good day.”

“It is so sad when an old tired person feels like she needs to bring down young beautiful women to make themselves feel young again>”

“Bitch shut your ugly ass up.  Zendaya look 10x better than you on her worst day.  While you up here talking trash, zendaya getting more famous.  You dumb fuck.”

Bwahahahaha!  I cant.  I know those comments should hurt my feelings but I find them so freaking hilarious.  I am literally crying with laughter as I write this.  I am contemplating doing a video like Mean Tweets where I read them aloud.

SUNDAY – After Taylor’s friends left I went out and crushed everything on my incredibly long to-do list.  I felt like it would take me all day but I wound up just knocking things out.  After that I had time to hang with T on the couch and then we went to the park for a bike ride.  It was Sunny for a change and we wanted to soak it up.

All in all a pretty crazy, mostly good weekend.  I am linking up with my girl, Biana, today for weekending.  If you get a moment, stop by her blog and check her out.

Happy Friday!

TGIF, am I right?  This week has been so blah for me.  I don’t feel enthusiastic about anything.  I am, however, really looking forward to pizza, Netflix and sweatpants tonight!  It’s raining so the weather totally lends itself to some good lounging.

Today I am linking up with AprilAmanda and Della for Friday Faves.  Here we go:

1.  Better Call Saul.  I stayed home with a massive migraine on Wednesday.  I cuddled up in bed with Jeter and watched three episodes back to back that I had on my DVR.  Can I just say that I love this show so much.  Is anyone else watching?

2.  Easter Eggs.  Dying eggs is something we do as a family every year.  Usually we buy a kit but I have so much Modge Podge, glitter, stickers and ribbon lying around that I may just DIY something.  Is it wrong that I totally want to dye Jeter a myriad of pastel colors using food coloring?  He would look so cute tie dyed in purple, pink, blue and green!

651ccce7315a970dda10ed46e8740c553.  Roasted Chicken.  I am making a slow roasted chicken on Sunday for supper using the Pioneer Woman’s recipe.  How yummy does that look?

4.  Middle Finger Statue.  I just bought this from Gilt!  I couldn’t not.  I have been hoarding gold accessories for an office that I plan to create in the near future and this fit right in.

5.  Leith Long Sleeve Floral Romper.  This is my first official purchase for Spring.  I have been trying to hold back since the weather in NYC has been so heinous but a girl cant wait forever.

I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  xo

Cache is Closing!

Growing up, one of my favorite activities was to wander around the local mall with my friends.  On our way to Claire’s or Contempo I would stop and gaze at the fancy dresses in the window of Cache.  Over the years I have had the pleasure of buying a few for various weddings and parties.  Their dresses are so well made and trendy without looking cheap.

Sadly, I got an email last week that they are closing all their stores.  While I will miss admiring their clothes I am definitely wanting to rush there ASAP to take advantage of their ridiculous liquidation sales.  Right now they are offering 30-60 % off all merchandise and items will only get cheaper as they get closer to 3/30.  You can check out the current sale information on their Facebook page.

Some of the things I am hoping they still have in my size are:

This navy mermaid gown.  How gorgeous is that?  I love the jeweled details at the waist.

y5310a362d645a-blprt-

This beautiful tiered lace dress.  That would be great for work, weekend family events, even blog events.

They also have some beautiful gowns that would work perfectly for prom and at these crazy prices Cache would be one of the first places I would stop with my daughter if I were in the market for one.

This is a sponsored post. Thank you for supporting ALG.

Birthday Shenanigans and Other Fun Weekend Activities!

2015-03-21 19.08.07

Good morning my loves!  I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!  Mine was so fun!  Friday was a little odd as it was snowing pretty hard despite being the first day of Spring.  Thankfully, on Saturday the Sun was shining and it was a little warmer.

I spent the day running errands (nails, hair, taking Taylor to tutoring, etc).  I was a bit of a bad blogger because I took no pictures.  I did, however, make up for it on Saturday night and if you follow along on Instagram you probably caught a few of them.

I mentioned last week that my husband booked a private cooking class for us and our friends at the Art of Seduction.  We attended a lesson there in September and had SO MUCH FUN that we decided to do it again.  We even decided to make the same exact menu since it was so delicious.

My friends were not sure what to expect but they loved it.  You can read more about our last experience HERE and if you are in the New York Metro area and looking for something fun and different to do with your spouse or friends I HIGHLY recommend taking a class.

Here is a before selfie (sorry for the weird angle).  My dress is Aqua from Bloomingdales and my necklace is Perry Street from Rocksbox and I love it!

I had to get a shot of my new birthday bag!  You can find more details on it here.

I am pretty drunk in the next two pictures.  I obviously had a good time and lot of wine.

On Sunday I hung around on the couch and whined about my massive headache and then managed to take Taylor to a mid-day showing of Insurgent.  It was really good.  I say that not having read the books so I have no basis of comparison where that is concerned.  Strictly as a person watching the movie I can say I enjoyed it.

Friday Five!

Happy Friday Lovahs!  This weekend is one I am certainly looking forward to.  Tomorrow I am meeting up with my besties for one last birthday celebration.  Also, Taylor and I have tickets to see Insurgent on Sunday!  I cant wait to see what Tris and Four get into in this one!

Today I am linking up with AprilAmanda and Della for Friday Faves.  If you get a chance, please swing through and show them some love.  Here we go:

One.  I would like to take a second to wish my blogger buddy, B from the Sequin Notebook, a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  She and M were some of the first bloggers I met in real life and I just love them.  Enjoy your day, girl!

Two.  Nutella Swirled Peanut Butter Banana Bread from Sally’s Baking Addiction.  I have some very ripe bananas and I was planning on making bread but I never thought to include Nutella and peanut butter.  Totally making this asap!

Three.  I am obsessed with these coasters from Calypso St. Barth!  I dont know where I would put them but I need them!

Four.  I am really considering buying this BCBG burnout dress for Easter brunch.

Five.  I love this quote.  Lately I have been going through some stuff and this just reminds me to keep fighting through.  Everything will be okay in the end.  Failure is not an option.
