Happy Friday!

Happy Friday ladies and gents!  What a quick week!  This weekend is a busy one.  Tomorrow, I have the SoFab conference (is anyone else going to that?) and Sunday is Father’s Day!  Both good things but I have a feeling they are going to cause the weekend to be over in a flash.

Today I am linking up with AprilAmanda and Della to share my Friday Favorites.  Let’s get this party started:

1.  Kate Hudson.  I have to start this post with a big thank you to Kate Hudson’s sick body.  This photo inspired me to work out four days in a row this week!  I knew she was in good shape but MY GOSH!  She is 36, has TWO kids and she is a total inspiration!  rs_600x600-150616103059-600.kate-hudson-bikini-greece.jw.61615_2

2.  Entourage.  I saw this the other night and it was EPIC.  If you like the show then you will love the movie.  It was basically just like one long episode.  I must say – I love me some Ari Gold!  He is my fave!  His angry, aggressive behavior inspires me for some reason.  It makes me want to run five miles or kick some butt.  Between him and his fury in this movie and that Kate Hudson picture above, I was extremely inspired this week.

3.  A Pinch of Lovely.  I mentioned previously that I bought these in black.  Well, I have been wearing them non-stop.  They are so cute and stylish that I went back and bought them in tan as well.  Now, I just saw them on A Pinch of Lovely and I feel like I cant live without the coral. Thoughts?

4. Taylor Swift.  I love that she is a Crazy Cat Lady!  How cute is her kitty btw?

5. OITNB.  I have been totally cracked out on OITNB all week.  I finally bit the bullet and started watching the series from the beginning and it has taken over my whole life.  I have only been sleeping for around four hours a night because I stay up binge watching it.  I cant help myself though!  #YOLO

Alright loves, have a fabulous weekend and I will meet you back here on Monday!  xo

How To Make Cleaning Fun!

How To Make Cleaning Fun #Reallifeclean #Collectivebias #clorox

Let’s face it. I am not a Saturday in the trenches, all day scrubbing, dirt under my fingernails type of gal. Sometimes cleaning gets too much, it’s enough to make you want to buy a new mattress from somewhere like Leesa and new furniture too. I totally own that. Thankfully, I have a cleaning lady that comes in every other week and does a full deep-clean of my house. I also get someone to help clean my windows on the outside (makes sense right? Trying to get those clean is hard enough). I strongly recommend you getting your own window cleaner such as eavestrough cleaning company, they can really help you out! My hubby and I both work long hours and between our jobs, commuting, blogging and parenting there is not a whole lot of time left over. While I do have help, I still have to take care of the upkeep and between my messy self, my husband, daughter, tons of dark wood (that collects dust like a magnet) and my white fluffy furbaby (that sheds like it is his business) there is still a lot of maintenance that we are responsible for.

Since we do have to spend a little time each weekend tidying up, I try my best to make it fun family time! Here are some tips on how I achieve this:

1. Divide and Conquer. Make cleaning a family affair! Things go a lot more quickly when everyone pitches in and there is no reason why you cant bond and chat while you tidy!

2. Have the Right Products (aka SHOP). Shopping = fun! Am I right? I like to do things the quickest and most effective way possible. When it comes to tasks such as vacuuming, you shouldn’t need to shop for products like a canister vacuum too often, and a good vacuum should last you a considerable amount of time. In terms of other cleaning products, if I can find a product that is easy to use and I can keep close to where it needs to be used (like under the bathroom sink or on the kitchen counter) than I am all about it. Lately, I have been obsessed with a bunch of Clorox products.

A few of the items that I have been using to make cleaning easier are:

Clorox Scrub Singles Bathroom Pads. They are pre-loaded with Clorox cleaner. Plus they feature a scrubbing surface designed to power through soap scum. I love that I don’t have to worry about Taylor pouring the right amount of product onto a paper towel. She just wets a Scrub Single, cleans, rinses and chucks it. It is that simple and she is so proud of herself afterwards for being a good helper!

Clorox-Real-Life-Clean-Scrub-Singles Clorox-Real-Life-Clean-Scrub-Singles-2Clorox Pump ‘N Clean Kitchen & Dish Cleaner. This one is a game changer! It is food-safe so you can use it all around the kitchen without worrying about poisoning your family (always a plus in my book). You can pump it with one hand and wipe out messes in a flash.

Clorox Clorox Triple Action Dust Wipes. These wipes have been SO useful to me. If you have ever seen pictures of my house you may have noticed my love of dark wood. We have shelves, entertainment centers, bedroom furniture and tables that are all lovely dark shades. While they are aesthetically pleasing, they are a real dust collectors! I find myself cleaning these every few days unfortunately. Thankfully, I discovered Clorox Triple Action Dust Wipes and they make the process a lot easier. I can use one for an entire room and I keep them right in my entertainment center. They are dry, non-abrasive and trap and lock dust, allergens and even the white hair of a certain cat!

OF COURSE, I got my cleaning products at Target (since I am there every week at some point anyway shopping for everything from dresses to cat products). You can find them in the cleaning aisle and from June 7-July 4, you will receive 10% off their Scrub Singles, Pump ‘N Clean and Triple Action Dustwipes at Target using the Cartwheel app! Savings plus convenience equals FUN!

3. Blast the Tunes. Cleaning doesn’t have to be boring! Nothing is more fun than a full blown family cleaning dance party! Try it! Some of my faves from my current playlist are:

Bug A Boo – Destiny’s Child: This has such a fun beat and afterwards you can enthrall your kids with tales of pagers and AOL!

So What – PINK: So what, I’m still a rock star (even if I am scrubbing my house in the suburbs)!

Umbrella – Rihanna: When the Sun shines we shine together, told you I’ll be there forever… Beautiful message for a family dance party!

Tornado – Steve Aoki & Tiesto: Rock out to this catchy tune while you scrub away!

Michael Jackson – Remember the Time: While this is on you can take turns busting out your best MJ impressions!

4. Turn Chores Into Games. We all have that one spot where stuff accumulates. Mine is the bistro table by the front door. We come home and put things down on there. At any given time there are packages, hats, sunglasses, backpacks, bottles of water, pocketbooks, pieces of mail and sweatshirts that get shrugged off and thrown up there. It drives me crazy because it is one of the first things you see when you enter the house and it look so messy. Obviously, this eyesore is something we deal with first on the weekend. To make it more fun I divvy up everyone’s stuff, put it into laundry baskets and then we race to see who can put their belongings away first. (Even Jeter helps out!)

Another Rocksbox!

Rocksbox #rocksboxreview #itgirl

Surprise!  Another Rocksbox review!  As I mentioned last week, my latest Rocksbox got lost en route to me.  The team at RB sent me a new one and then a week later I got the original (lost) box.  So, if it seems like I have tons of boxes coming and going that is the reason.  (I wish I did get a new one every week though.  It is so much fun when I open the mailbox and there is  a lovely package from them waiting for me!)

I hope you guys are not sick of hearing these reviews!  I, personally, love to see what everyone gets in their Birchbox, Stitchfix, Glossybox, etc.  I cant afford every subscription service but I do love to live vicariously.

This latest box was ehhhh. It was not my favorite but it was not the worst thing that ever happened.   It contained:

Wanderlust + Co – Screw Stud Earrings in Gold $20 RETURN

Wanderlust + Co Screw Stud Earrings in Gold

I very nearly kept these.  They were cute and I wore them a bunch of times but then I made the error of asking my husband what he thought and he said “they were okay” so I sent them back.  I may add them to my wishlist again in the future though.

Margaret Elizabeth – Marquis Petal Necklace $166 RETURN

Margaret Elizabeth Marquis Petal Necklace

I was actually very excited about this pretty necklace when I first got it but I wound up not even wearing it.  It kept turning around so the back was facing front and I got annoyed and took it off.  I definitely did not pay $166 for a necklace the would not lay right!

Charlene K – Double Square Open Bracelet (Blue/Onyx) $124 RETURN

Charlene K Double Square Open Bracelet (Blue/Onyx)

This bracelet is a great example of why I love Rocksbox.  I got it, wore it on a few occasions (including Mother’s Day), got compliments on it, enjoyed it and sent it back.  I could not pay $124 for a bracelet this month but renting one for $19 was definitely doable.

If you guys aren’t members but are curious about Rocksbox, you can try your first month TOTALLY free, just go to the website and use code “alittleglitterxoxo“.use my code-

Celebrating The Anchor In Our Lives…

One of my favorite pictures of my husband is the one shown above.  Even as a kid he loved the water and was a total hustler.  He would go down to the docks in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and work on fishing boats.  He loved it and  also enjoyed making some extra money.  Today, he is the same way.  He works hard and he still LOVES to fish.  His rugged hobbies are a nice compliment to my girlish ways and they help to keep Taylor and I anchored.  We love to do girly-girl things like shop and get our nails done but we also indulge in Yankees games, Monster Truck shows, go carts and fishing often thanks to Billy.  He helps to keep us well-rounded.

When searching for the perfect gift for my hubby for Father’s Day present I started (and ended) my search at the Macy’s cologne counter.  I found the new scent by Nautica called Life, smelled it and fell in love.

My hubby is a huge cologne-collector and what could be better for my aqua-loving husband than a scent inspired by the water?

Happy Friday you guys!  I hope you are enjoying your June!  It is officially warm and lovely in NYC and it feels like Summer!  I love it!  This weekend we are taking Taylor and my nephew to go check out Monster Jam.  They are really excited and it should be really fun.  Other than that, we don’t really have anything going on, so I will probably spend some time cleaning, reading, cooking and hanging out.  I love a relaxing, unplanned Sunday!

Today I am linking up with AprilAmanda and Della for Friday Faves.  Let’s get this party started:

1.  This Tank.  How cute is this?  Brunch shirt, Jay Z reference and glitter letters.  SO ME!  Love!il_570xN.777575445_6p5d

 2.  Odd Mom Out.  I am OBSESSED with this show.  It may be because I live in NYC and I see and interact with these people all day or it may just be because it is hilarious and at times we all feel like the oddball.  Either way, I totally give it my stamp of approval and will be watching it each week.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you can check it out on Demand.

3.  Special K Heavenly Caramel Brownies.  If you see these in the store – BUY THEM!  I have a bad sweet tooth and after dinner I need something chocolate.  My hubby and daughter picked these up for me at the food store and I am hooked.  They are on the small side but packed with enough flavor that they satisfy your craving and they are only 80 calories! k2-_42a36a7a-587f-46cc-afd5-40e9383024b5.v1

4.  Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris.  Instagram official and totes adorbs.  I love them together!
