Okay guys! We are nine days out from the beginning of Hanukkah and ten from Christmas. The pressure is officially on to get those presents bought and wrapped! I promised myself I would be done with my holiday shopping by December 1st and although I did not meet my deadline, I came pretty close. There are always a few people that I have no idea what to buy that take a bit longer than the rest.
The team at Babbleboxx just sent me an epic package filled with awesome holiday gift ideas so hopefully it can serve as inspiration for anyone still trying to finish their lists! Continue reading →
Last year during my move I found some 8mm tapes in a desk drawer. It took a few seconds to realize what they were but when I remembered it brought a HUGE smile to my face. Back in the Summer/Fall of 2001 I had a video camera. I was 18, I bought it on a whim (and a credit card) and took it with me EVERYWHERE. This was back before reality TV was a thing and way before it was an obnoxious thing. I think the only TV show like that that even existed at this point was the Real World and it was probably early days. Continue reading →

I love paper goods so much! I bet you guys didn’t know that about me but I will own it – I am a total greeting card nerd. If I had the opportunity to open my own little shop today, I would sell either stationary or purses.
I enjoy getting a card in the mail and my friends and I send them to each other quite frequently. I have a bunch of them on display on the ledge of my desk at work. Most of them feature a cat on the front, so it helpful to new people passing by. It alerts them right away to my crazy cat lady tendencies.
Lately, I have been noticing an upward trend in the price of greeting cards (ummmm really? $9 for a card?). When I’m buying a special one for my bestie it doesn’t bother me so much but when I have to buy ten for all the birthday parties Taylor has to go to this month it is not my favorite. (Especially since I know that those kids are going to chuck the card the second the party is over. I cant blame them. I used to do the same thing when I was younger.)
Recently, I was introduced to Walmart’s card and gift section and I am totally obsessed! They have EVERYTHING you need to also create an inexpensive yet thoughtful gift.
The best part is that they carry a line of cards from Hallmark (exclusive to Walmart) that start at 47 cents each! They are NICE cards, too. They are not cheaply made at all. The last time I went I totally stocked up. Here are some of my favorites:
The total for all these beautiful Hallmark cards was less than $2!
I also picked up a birthday gift for my neighbor during my shopping. She spends every day around the pool with her kiddos so I put together a little collection of things for her including a pretty, fluffy towel, magazines, a fun tumbler that will keep her drink cold and some candy. I was able to spend more on her gift because I got her a beautiful card at only 47 cents!

This time of year can be very difficult for my poor husband. Between Christmas, Valentine’s Day, my birthday and our anniversary he has to think of a lot of gifts for me. Since I am such a kind and charitable wife I have compiled a list of ideas to help him out. We are about a month out from my b-day (which is St. Paddy’s Day). Obviously, I am not expecting all these things (although that would certainly be nice). These are just items that I have come across lately that I love but would not buy for myself. I think that description makes for the perfect present.
Tripod and DSLR Camera Remote. I have been playing with the idea of getting a tripod and remote for my DSLR camera so that I can start taking my own fashion photos for the blog. These are pretty inexpensive and they get great reviews.
Coordinates Collection Bracelet. I came across this Company on Instagram and fell in love with the Legend Bracelet. They are so meaningful and stylish. I would die for one with the coordinates of the location where my daughter was born.
Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh Sorbet. I have been wearing Marc Jacobs’ fragrances since his first scent was released in 2001. I am almost done with my bottle of Daisy and a new one would make a fantastic birthday present.
Pink Schwinn Bike. This one has been on my list forever. How cute would this be with a wicker basket on front?
As a blogger I am approached by Companies that want me to feature their products on A Little Glitter pretty often. The majority of the time I politely decline because it is not something I would buy, it doesn’t fit in with my target demographic or honestly sometimes the stuff they are shilling is weird. In the case of Kidz Can Design I knew this was a fabulous idea and I couldn’t wait to share it with you.
I think I have mentioned in the past that my hubby can be pretty tough to shop for. He wont give me a Christmas list (even though I give him a super-detailed one for myself that is a mile long) and insists he doesn’t want anything. Obviously, I am still going to get him some presents so I have to wing it and come up with things on my own.
When Kidz Can Design approached me to do a review, I checked out their website immediately and I was really impressed. I realized that this would be a great product to make for my own husband from our daughter for Christmas.
The concept is fabulous. Your child makes a drawing, you take a picture of it and upload it to the website and from there you can have it put onto necklaces, bracelets, charms or (in my hubby’s case) a key chain. You can also use a photo of your child.
This cute face wrote a little blurb for my hubby last night.
I took the above photo with my iPhone and uploaded it to the site. The whole process took about five minutes and it should be at my house in two to three weeks.
I will post an update when I get my package. I cant wait to check it out in person!
Do you guys have any personalized gift ideas for the men in your life that are difficult to shop for?
