Hey guys! I’m back with more details from Taylor’s rock star birthday party! (In case you missed part one – here is a link.) In today’s post I am going to share how I turned the party space from this:
into this:
The elements I used to dress up the ceiling were tissue paper poms and a beautiful rock star banner that I put on the front of the stage. I had 24 poms in different sizes that I got from PomPomsUSA. I fluffed them and suspended them with fishing wire. I used purple, white, hot pink and silver and I feel like they really popped against the black ceiling.
The rock star banner was made by Firefly Party Design and it looked gorgeous on the front of the stage! I thought the inclusion of real sheet music was such a smart idea!
The next thing I focused on was the dessert area. For this, I actually re-purposed the display case that the music school had in that area of the room by wrapping it in black plastic table covering. I bought a roll of it from Party City and it was long enough to wrap that case and three tables and I still had plenty left over. I also bought hot pink sequin runners on Amazon a few days before the party. I wasn’t sure they were going to come in time but thankfully they did.
Christina from Project Paper made those beautiful tassel garlands on the front of the tables. Here are a few pictures of them in the sunlight. They were so sparkly and gorgeous! They would look really great for an outdoor party as well.
How fabulous are the blinged out risers that Kathy from 2 Krafty Moms sent me? They looked great and added a bit of height and visual interest to the dessert area. Those beautiful cake pops were made by Besos Bakery Boutique.
In the middle of the table you can see the tiered dessert stand that Taylor and I made from vinyl records. (Here is the tutorial in case you missed it.)
Those beautiful glittery cupcake holders were provided by Dress My Cupcake. They were extremely easy to assemble, didn’t shed any glitter and are reusable! How cool is that? I could only fit about twenty cupcakes onto the record dessert stand so I ran to Pier1 the day before the party and picked up some clear glass cake stands. They were only $13 each! Score!
On the dessert table I also included delicious zebra print sugar cookies made by the very talented Leslie of Bakesale. Fun fact: the World is extremely small. When I gave Leslie my shipping address we discovered that both she and her husband used to work in my building before moving to NC! Crazy, right?
I should also note that I used items on the dessert table (everything besides the cupcakes) that were individually wrapped and could be taken home in the kid’s swag bags. I wanted to have a beautiful dessert display filled with baked goods but I did not think the kids would be able to finish everything there during the party.
Another tasty treat I set out for the girls to enjoy were hot pink and purple chocolate-covered oreos made by Tia of Deliciously Chocolate. These were SO SO SO yummy!
The last sweet treat (but certainly not the least since I have gotten so many compliments on these and inquiries from parents as to where to buy them) are the milk chocolate microphone lollipops made by Rosebud Chocolates. These were perfect for me as they even had a little glitter on the top!
The party was a total success and everyone had a blast!
What a wonderful themed party and all the details were fantastic – especially the microphone dessert!!
