Happy Monday my loves! Spring has (finally) sprung in NYC and I got a chance to enjoy a fabulous weekend with my family.
On Saturday Billy and I brought Taylor and our nephew to Sahara Sam’s Oasis in New Jersey. I will be doing a full post on it (with a giveaway!) later in the week but the short version is that we had a BLAST! It is still a little too cool to be enjoying any sort of outdoor water sports so it was nice to enjoy the indoor facilities. They keep the temperature at a toasty 80 degrees and it really felt like Summer to be donning a bathing suit! The kids had so much fun and did so much running around that at the end of the day Taylor sat down and started to fall asleep while picking out prizes in the arcade and then they both passed out cold during the car ride home!
On Sunday I woke up early and started running errands. It was Sunny and gorgeous out and I got so much accomplished. I dropped off my dry cleaning, got my car washed, got a mani/pedi, went food shopping and we had brunch with friends. Taylor and I donned our favorite maxi dresses (Spring fashion is so much more fun than Winter).
(The pic above is T pointing to the chocolate covered bacon she had as an appetizer. Yummo!)
I hope you all had a fabulous weekend as well and got to spend some time outdoors!
Today I am also teaming up with a fabulous group of bloggers to give away a $125 Amazon gift card to celebrate The Sequin Notebook’s 2nd Blogiversary! Good morning lovies! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I sure did! If you follow along on social media you probably saw a few pictures I posted to Instagram of books and my cat. That was how I spent the majority of my time and it was bliss.
On Friday night I arrived home from work to find a paperback copy of the new Marian Keyes book, The Woman Who Stole My Life. Obviously I started jumping with joy. I mentioned that I had been dying to read this novel in this post. Usually I download books to my iPad but this one is not due out in the United States until July and I couldn’t wait so I ordered it in paperback and had it shipped from the UK. I am about half way through (it is pretty long) and so far I am loving it!
A lot of my Saturday and Sunday looked like this:
I did manage to get myself to the nail salon to get a mani/pedi. The vast wall of nail colors intimidated me and I would up going with a classic french manicure.
While getting my digits painted I overheard a girl next to me telling her friend about eating White Castle for lunch and immediately became obsessed with the idea of having it for dinner. (Does that ever happen to you? You hear the name of a restaurant and MUST eat there?) I called Billy (who hates fast food) and somehow managed to convince him that it would be delicious…AND IT WAS! Afterwards we played Uno with T before more reading and bed. (Saturday nights at Bannon Castle are WILD lately.)
Sunday was more reading, laundry, cleaning and napping. I topped off a perfect day of relaxation with the Golden Globes. Who did you guys love? My favorite of the night was Leslie Mann. I feel like she is so underrated! She always looks flawless and she is so funny and talented! I loved her green earrings, ombre hair and her dress. Who were your faves of the night?
I am linking up with my girl, Biana for Weekending today! Thanks for hosting, B!
Good morning my loves! Today I’m linking up with Biana and Meghan for a weekend recap!
ONE: I mentioned to you guys last week that I was going to have a bit of a lazy, unplanned weekend. It started off beautifully. We all slept late, then I made some banana pancakes and Taylor and I lounged on the couch and watched a marathon of The Goldbergs. I had seen posters for this show all over NYC last year and I thought it looked dumb. Then, for some reason I watched an episode recently and discovered how hilarious it is! Now, Taylor and I are totally hooked.
TWO and THREE: A few episodes into our marathon, my adorable husband advised us that we had to be ready at 6 pm for a mystery family date. He packed the car up and drove us up to Warwick, NY for a drive-in movie! Yay! This was on my Summer Bucket List and I was not sure we would be able to accomplish it because there are zero drive-in theaters nearby. He did some research and located the Warwick Drive-In. It was about an hour and a half drive from our house but so so so worth it. Taylor loved it and we plan to do it again each Summer.
FOUR: Sunday also started with sleeping late and then Taylor and I headed out for some girl time. Check out the purse! That is definitely my daughter! Soon she is going to want to dip into my LV collection.
FIVE, SIX and SEVEN: Our first stop was the nail salon where I got my digits painted with my favorite – OPI Gelcolor in Alpine Snow. I’ve been using this for a few years now – actually this was on my nails the entire Summer of 2013. It holds up and stays bright white for weeks. I wanted to switch it up a little so I got one ombre glitter nail as well.
EIGHT: After that we stopped for pizza (which Taylor was CLEARLY excited about, lol).
NINE: I ended my weekend the same way it began – snuggled up watching TV with my fam.
I feel super-relaxed and ready for the week. I hope you all had a fantastic weekend as well!
