Hey Everyone! Today is my first day back from last week’s blogging sabbatical. I appreciate you all bearing with me during my time off. It has been sad with my Mom being sick and I find myself in a funk for the most part. When things are glum I like to remind myself that there are ALWAYS things to be thankful for. If I am especially depressed I even make a mental list of ten things (both big and small). They run the gamut from my daughter’s health to Sunshine to my new Influenster box. It helps me to readjust my focus to the light instead of dwelling on the darkness.
Another thing that has been a lifesaver is having my bestie in NYC for the Summer. We have been going on adventures whenever possible. I am so thankful to have her here. She listens to me talk about my Mom and is sympathetic but we don’t spend all day focusing on it. I get it out and then we move on. My Mom has been making progress but for now is still on a ventilator in the ICU. I am not sure what is going to happen with her health in the future but I am trying to be positive. I mentioned in a past post that we have been estranged for years and this illness has brought us a lot closer. If nothing else I am happy that I have been able to forgive her and we have made some happy memories together that I will have regardless of what the future holds.
I wanted to also thank my guest posters for their help this past week! One of my favorite parts of blogging is the friendships I have formed both online and in person. I never thought that I would have “blog friends” and I appreciate you guys so much!
